When you need a good kick in the pants.
STOOOOOOOP! Can you hear me? Freaking stop this already. There's a little bit a vulnerability here...and I might get a few head-scratching replies, but that's okay. The month of May was horrible...like get you down and make you want to crawl in a hole horrible, and I've been sucking everyone around me dry with my lifeless attitude.
It could be something in the atmosphere, water, air, universe...whatever, because a lot of us are feeling it, and I think that's okay...but only for a little bit.
I don't want to make this about me, but rather US. All of us have a story. Some are perceived to be this big and strong power suit wearing mama, yet we have our times of weaknesses. Some are always seen with a happy face and chipper attitude, yet we cry. Some are seen as the perfect parent with the perfect kids, yet we loose our sh#t from time to time after our kid had a tantrum at Walmart. Just yesterday I was picking up Chinese food for me and Justin and the staff was frantically trying to recover from computer problems, yet trying to operate with ease. They were getting a lot of heck from it and I felt bad, so I grabbed a glass of wine and embraced the wait because they were TRYING their heart out to have the best dang service. I appreciated that, and paid them a compliment as I walked out the door. But why don't we show ourselves that same GRACE? Why don't we stare into that mirror and tell ourselves, "hey, you had a crappy day, but you're pretty dang awesome and I appreciate you for all the BLESSINGS you provide."
You see...we're all pretty amazing! We're all amazing in our own different ways, and yes we may have a screaming child, a deal gone bad, a goal not met, a loved one lost....the list goes on...but THAT'S OKAY! I don't write this because I know it all, or because I feel I've earned the right to tell you how to feel or what to do, but because I need a GOOD KICK IN THE PANTS too! We've got this! YOU HEAR ME? Do I hear me?
Of course we can't do this alone. Our family, our friends, our community, our God has our back. Let's see that....I believe we can. 2 Corinthians 12:8-9
Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.
